Blockchains can significantly enhance security, transparency and accountability of data. The application of blockchain to the global development sphere, where aid and remittances can be lost to corruption and fraud, therefore has the potential to enhance delivery of such services. In his address, Niall Dennehy discussed AID:Tech’s work with governments and NGOs in relation to blockchain technology, including its facilitation of secure digital identities as a means of delivering aid to refugees, as well as AID:Tech’s work with the UN to implement the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

 

About the Speaker:

Niall Dennehy is the Co-Founder and Chief Operations Officer of AID:Tech. Prior to AID:Tech, Niall founded a number of other companies and has held senior technology positions in a range of organisations, including HP, Ericsson, LG & Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. He holds a B.Sc in Information Technology from National University of Ireland, Galway.
