About the Speaker:
Dr. Kathryn Sullivan is a distinguished scientist, renowned NASA astronaut, and currently serving as Under Secretary of United States’ Commerce for Oceans and Atmosphere, as well as Administrator of NOAA, confirmed by the US Senate in March 2014. Dr. Sullivan was one of the first six women selected to join the NASA astronaut corps in 1978 and holds the distinction of being the first American woman to walk in space.
