About the Speech

The United Kingdom’s vote to leave the European Union and the election of Donald Trump as the next President of the United States suggest a phase of uncertainty for Germany and for Europe as a whole. In the context of the upcoming 2017 federal elections in Germany, Almut Möller discussed how political classes in Germany reacted to these events and outlined Germany’s vision for European integration and cooperation in the future.

About the Speaker

Prior to joining ECFR, Almut Möller worked at the Centre for Applied Policy Research at LMU Munich and as an independent political analyst in London. She later led the Europe programme at the German Council on Foreign Relations (2010-2015). Almut Möller currently heads the Berlin office of ECFR with Josef Janning and is a non-resident fellow at the American Institute for Contemporary German Studies at Johns Hopkins University, Washington, D.C.
