The IIEA Director General, Tom Arnold, has expressed his deep sympathy with Brendan Cox and his family on the terrible loss of his wife, Jo Cox, MP last Thursday, 16th June 2016. Mr Arnold said “Brendan’s clear statement following Jo’s death that all should unite against the hate that killed her was a reflection of what his wife had worked for throughout her life and the couple’s deep commitments to justice and a more tolerant society. I have known Brendan through his work on global nutrition in recent years and have always admired his clear-headed commitment to improving the lives of the most vulnerable. In learning, over recent days, of the remarkable qualities of his wife, we appreciate the scale of the loss to Brendan and their children, Leila and Cuillin, and indeed to British Parliamentary and public life.
