Ms Moorehead and Ms McDonnell discuss the international community’s commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals for everyone and to leaving no one behind. They present and analyse the findings of a survey circulated to members of the OECD’s Development Assistance Committee (DAC) between April and May 2018, which investigated the level and extent of commitment to leaving no one behind in development co-operation programming. They reflect on the implications of this report for Ireland’s policy for international development, A Better World, and its priority of reaching the furthest behind first.

Susanna Moorehead was appointed Chair of the OECD’s Development Assistance Committee (DAC) in late 2018. Ms Moorehead previously served as British Ambassador to Ethiopia and Djibouti and UK Permanent Representative to the African Union and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa.
Ida Mc Donnell is a Senior Policy Analyst at the OECD’s Development Co-operation Directorate and leads the OECD’s work on the Development Co-operation Report. Prior to her 15 years at the OECD, she worked for the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade as a development policy attaché based in the Delegation to the OECD and UNESCO.
