About the Speech:
The launch of an EU-wide debate in 2016 on the future of the EU27 has generated bold and far-reaching ideas for the Union. Can these ideas consolidate and deepen the cooperation among Member States? Would further integration contribute to dealing more effectively with future challenges? State Secretary Iztok Mirošic addressed these questions and reflected on the policy priorities on which the EU will have to focus in the future.
About the Speaker:
Iztok Mirošic is State Secretary at the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a position he has held since early 2017. Prior to this position, State Secretary Mirošic served as the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to Libya and Tunisia, from 2013 to 2015, to Italy and Malta, from 2010-2013, and to the United Kingdom, from 2004 to 2008.
As part of the IIEA’s Future of the EU27 Project, which is supported by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, this event was open to the public.
