In his keynote address, Mr Lacroix discusses modern-day peacekeeping operations and how they address the challenges we face today. He also presents the UN Secretary-General’s Action for Peacekeeping (A4P) initiative which aims to strengthen safer operations, mobilise support for political solutions and better equip and train forces in the future.
About the Speaker:
Jean-Pierre Lacroix, UN Under-Secretary-General, brings to the position over 25 years of political and diplomatic experience. From 2014 to 2017, Mr Lacroix served as the Director for the United Nations, International Organisations, Human Rights and Francophonie at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Previously, he was Ambassador of France to Sweden and Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York. He has also served as Advisor at the Cabinet of the French Prime Minister. Mr Lacroix holds BAs from the ESSEC, Sciences Po Paris and the National School of Administration (ENA).
