While the development of blockchain is ground-breaking and has many operational benefits, it also presents unprecedented challenges, for users and for policy-makers alike. Craig Dunn and Emilio Davila-Gonzalez discuss how standards are being developed, at international and European level respectively, to foster acceptance and application of these new technologies, and to develop appropriate policy responses.
About the Speakers:
Craig Dunn was appointed Chair of the International Standards Technical Committee for Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technologies (ISO/TC 307) in 2017. He also chairs the Australian Government’s Fintech Advisory Group.
Emilio Davila-Gonzalez has been Head of ICT standardisation at DG Connect at the European Commission since 2017, working on the coordination of Standardisation policy and liaising with European Standardisation Organisations.
