In this speech, delivered at the Newry Chamber of Commerce and Trade on Tuesday 26 July 2016, Pat Cox argues that in the aftermath of the UK’s vote to leave the EU, Ireland can mobilise its political influence at EU level and avail of the accumulated inheritance of EU law and practice to protect its interests in the UK’s withdrawal negotiations.
Pat Cox is a Senior Fellow at the IIEA and a former President of the European Parliament.
