In her address to the YPN, Senator Ruane reflected on her years of activism and her political career and will discuss the importance of her own life story as a tool and drive for change during this time. According to Senator Ruane, your own story, matched with your own lived experience, can be a powerful tool in the fight to overcome obstacles and to be heard. When you tap into that voice, it’s not only empowering but often necessary to bring about change and to benefit yourself and society.
