The European Commission issued the 2018 Country Specific Recommendations (CSRs) on the 23rd of May. This timely seminar, which took place on 1 June, provided an opportunity to discuss the CSRs for Ireland and Europe in the context of an increased focus on social issues, and on ensuring that economic growth is inclusive and benefits all members of society.

 

About the Speakers:

Regina Doherty, Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection, and Joost Korte, Director General of DG Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion at the European Commission, delivered the keynote addresses at the Seminar.

A panel discussion followed, featuring Marie Sherlock, Chief Economist at SIPTU and Tony Donohoe, Head of Education and Social Policy at Ibec. Dan O’Brien, Chief Economist at the IIEA, chaired the event and Q&A session.
