About the Speech:

Prime Minister Ratas outlined Estonia’s vision for the future of the EU and discussed the main policy priorities of his Government in an EU of 27 Member States. Reflecting upon Estonia’s recent Presidency of the Council of the EU, which concluded on 31 December 2017, Prime Minister Ratas discussed how the progress made in advancing Estonia’s presidency priorities can be continued into the future.

About the Speaker:

Prime Minister Ratas is leader of the Estonian Centre Party and has been the Head of the Estonian Government since November 2016. From 2009-2016, Prime Minister Ratas was Vice-President of the Estonian parliament. He previously served as Mayor of Tallinn, from 2005-2007 and as Deputy Mayor of Tallinn on two occasions, from 2003-2004 and in 2005.

As part of the IIEA’s Future of the EU27 project, which is supported by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, this event is open to the public.
